Some people are born knowing exactly what they want to do. Rabih Mounzer wasn’t one of them — and that’s what makes him exceptional. He took the long road, and every step of it made him a better pharmacist.
Born in Lebanon, Rabih came to America chasing opportunity and carrying the kind of determination that only comes from leaving everything familiar behind. He enrolled at the University of Michigan–Dearborn and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science — training his mind to solve problems methodically, think in systems, and never stop at “good enough.”
But something was missing. Rabih realized his real calling wasn’t writing code — it was caring for people. In 2017, he made the bold decision to start over and enrolled in pharmacy school at Manchester University, one of the country’s most respected pharmacy programs. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and was inducted into the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society — an academic honor awarded only to the top pharmacy students in the nation.
His background in computer science wasn’t left behind — it gave him a unique edge. He approaches complex compounding formulas and drug interactions with the same analytical precision a programmer brings to debugging code. Patients get a pharmacist who is both deeply technical and genuinely warm.
Rabih went further than most. He became PCCA Compounding Certified through the Pharmacy Compounding Centers of America — one of the gold standards in the compounding world — and earned his Veterinary Pharmacist Certification, so he could extend that same expert care to the pets our families love.
Today, Dr. Mounzer runs 1st Choice Pharmacy in Taylor with one simple philosophy: treat every patient like family. He takes the time to learn your situation, find you savings, explain your options, and make sure you leave knowing exactly what you’re taking and why.
